Why Do I Need To Pay For Hosting?

Most people have to pay utility bills every month to keep their homes functioning properly. Hosting a website is very much alike – it needs to be paid for every month or year to keep it up and running.

Once your website is designed, it needs to be “plugged in” to the internet, i.e., it needs to be hosted. The benefit of working with a Web Developer is that they will conduct updates to themes and plugins, backup your site on a regular schedule, and generally make sure everything is working as it should be.

This is a service that WurkHub Digital Marketing provides to our clients that they never see. Our staff is diligent in helping to keep your website in good working order and help keep hackers from infiltrating your site. There are hosting providers that may cost less, however, they do not include maintenance, which is the only way to ensure your website is updated on a regular basis.

Our hosting services include a 36-hour backup on a virtual private server (VPS), so if for any reason your website goes down, there is a backup safely stored away.

Your hosting fee also includes an SSL Certificate, which all websites must have as of January 1st, 2017. An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificate is a digital certificate that authenticates a website identity and encrypts information that is sent to the server. This provides an additional layer of protection for your website.

WurkHub is not a hosting plan – we are a hosting partner.
