Jimmy’s Grotto Waukesha, WI
A Local Cult Brand
Rebranding: Examples of what you can do with a well designed logo.
What do you do when a company has been around for decades with an old tired logo and is a local food cult? Time to rebrand!
It is important to keep your heritage but to show the future customers that you are interested in having them as a customer too. The best way is to start with a fresh new look. The largest and most successful companies rebrand every few generations to keep attracting new clients.
Our new logo design is an evolution of the original symbol, which was more than ready for an update. The customer did not want to get too far away from the original chef that was beloved by the locals. So we complied and even added the name of the company that was always missing, but never addressed. So instead of a copy of a copy (say that fast) of their logo, we now have a fresh rebranded one for years to come.
New Website: Jimmy’s Grotto
The time to hire a professional photographer is when you just cannot catch the essence of the food any other way. The website slider shows different dishes that Jimmy’s creates. We applied several “call to action” buttons to send the customer to the Menu or Phone Ordering.
Grotto’s is famous for their “Ponza Rotta”, which is trademarked and prominently placed front and center, along with how long Jimmy’s Grotto has been in business. Take a look at the finished product… Jimmy’s Grotto website.
Logo and Style Guideline Packet:
To keep the new brand intact, WurkHub created a Styleguide for this client. Our file details usage, color, type styles, and offers some variations of this logo for various uses. Sometimes you need a horizontal version and we all need reduced versions simplified for social media use.
In pdf format, this file can be emailed and used for any “vector” high-resolution artwork for the printer, signmaker, screenprinter, or embroiderer. Anytime you need to send out art, this package will help to maintain the graphics standards you expect.
Branding Examples: What you can do with a well designed logo and promotional merchandise.
T-Shirts:
Once you have a new logo, why not come up with some snappy slogans and a new t-shirt? Available for sale in their on-line store via the Jimmy’s Grotto website. This is actually 2 shirts, the front is the attractive new Jimmy’s logo, and the backs will have different graphics sayings. Not only are these a profit center, they also promote the new brand when someone wear it.
After we received the t-shirts we decided to make a big splash. Every summer Friday in downtown Waukesha, the city closes the streets to host it’s Friday Night Live with 8-10 bands and hundreds of people. We hired a few locals to wear the shirts and carry a handful with them. Everyone in town wanted one. If approached and someone could guess the year the restaurant was founded (the answer was right on the t-shirt) they would receive a prize, those that did not know the correct answer received a coupon.
